“For the brothers”: Pantera shares reunion teaser video

Following the announcement of Pantera‘s first reunion shows at Mexico’s Hell & Heaven festival and Slipknot‘s South American Knotfests in December, the “Walk” metallers have shared a video teasing their return to the live stage.

The 30-second clip, posted to Pantera’s Twitter, features archival footage of the late Abbott brothers — guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul — accompanied by audio of screaming fans.

In between, text pops up reading, “For the brothers. For the fans. For legacy.”

The lineup for Pantera’s reunion, as first reported by Billboard, will feature the group’s surviving members, vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown, as well as Black Label Society‘s Zakk Wylde and Anthrax‘s Charlie Benante in place of Dime and Vinnie, respectively.

Neither Anselmo nor Brown has publicly commented on the reunion, though both Wylde and Benante have characterized the project as a “celebration” of Pantera’s music.

Still, the lineup posters for Hell & Heaven and the Knotfests simply bill the band as “Pantera.”

Pantera first broke up in 2003. Dime was murdered the following year, and Vinnie died of a heart condition in 2018.
